Vampiric alien brothers fall for down-on-their-luck human women.

Every time I finish reading a Zoey Draven book, I whisper “she just doesn’t miss…” Draven’s Brides of the Kylorr series is no exception. This is an angsty scifi/romantic fantasy series that takes place in the futuristic (yet medieval-ish) planet of Kylorr. The Kylorr are a vampiric and winged alien race, and their world is everything alien-gothic.

Although the series is still ongoing, each book features a different Kylorr brother from the House Kaalium. These bros are alien nobility and duty-bound to protect their planet (they are also angsty mofos due to some heavy family history). Despite their initial denial, they each fall for (surprise surprise!) down-on-their-luck, yet proud, human women. Insert lots of groveling for screwing up!

Brides of the Kylorr is now one of our favorites. We can’t wait for the next installments. If you are into scifi/monster romance with a gothic twist, we can’t recommend this series enough!

Side Note: F*cboi alert! You will want to take Kaldur to suplex city for his rakish-ass behavior. The very first chapter made me want to shank him. BUT there is lots of groveling. You’ve been warned!
